Siddanth Mathur from Seychelles sat down with us to share his experience while taking his Global MBA, specialising in investment banking, online with London School of Business & Finance.

I’m from Seychelles, originally from India, but we settled in Seychelles. I’m 23 years old. Currently, as a family, we own the Baker Tilly practice in the Seychelles, which is the eighth largest auditing firm in the world. I work in the firm as an audit manager.

Because I work in Seychelles, it was not possible for me to go out and do a two- or three-year MBA overseas. In Seychelles we do not have a university that offers such a course, and for me, after my working hours, it just fit perfectly.

I work from eight to eight. After ten o’clock to 1am was my study time. London School of Business & Finance gave me that option to study at my own time, at night, or whenever I wanted. Even during my transit to other countries, during flights, or, between meetings, I could just study. The flexibility is the key.

If I do an MBA in the UK, or any other country, I have to go there physically. Tuition fees, your education, your travel, your accommodation, everything just adds up. Most of the people doing an MBA are already working. For them to leave their secure jobs and go overseas, and then come back hoping to get another job, is not the ideal position to be in. That is why I chose the programme; that is why I recommend it to other people.

As I’m an employer and entrepreneur, leadership is key. Being a small firm, for me the marketing module was also very important. We can’t outsource the marketing division to anyone so the course helped me to, pretty much, handle the marketing aspect of my firm myself.
