Gain an understanding of the nature of human resource management, from the ethics involved in recruiting, to motivation and reward measures.
The Advanced Diploma consists of three modules; Human Resources, which will help you acquire a strong foundation in how to manage your personnel; Management and Leadership, which will introduce you to different leadership theories, and establish your managerial potential; and Managerial Development, which will connect the core theories and concepts with performance models for moving forward.

Learning Outcomes

Graduates of this certificate programme will possess career-ready skills in:

  • Harnessing talent, monitoring performance, and improving motivation and personal development
  • Understanding the strengths of different leadership styles, and how to use them
  • Communicating organisational objectives to teams on an international scale
  • Recognising and implementing the legal and ethical boundaries central to managerial behaviour
  • Your programme modules and learning content are delivered via the Canvas study platform, and feature the following resources:

    • Professionally produced video lectures created by leading business practitioners
    • A designated tutor who will provide support and feedback throughout your programme
    • Case studies and discussion questions to enhance your understanding of theory in context
    • Downloadable e-books and free library resources to aid your assignment writing and research
    • Access to online forums where you can share and discuss new concepts with fellow students and professionals from around the world
    • For non-native speakers of English, an IELTS score of 4.5, or equivalent
    • Relevant work experience is an asset, but no work experience is required
  • There are three modules in the Management and Leadership Certificate, with associated sub-topics included within each module:

    • Understand the role played by Human Resource Management in contemporary organisations
    • Evaluate the best practices used by organisations, and how these adapt to a range of demographics, organisations, and global policies
    • Develop a keen knowledge of people management techniques, and methods of communication, problem-solving, team building, and leadership

    You will be formally assessed once during the programme, which will consist of a written assignment up to 3,500 words (+/- 10%).
