Gain an understanding of the strategic implications of human resource management, and the many influencing factors, from Government policy to social factors.
Students will gain an edge in the world of business, developing their understanding of the role Human Resources plays in modern organisations. You’ll come to appreciate the methods used to motivate and reward staff, the effect of Trade Unions, and the need for disciplinary measures and grievance procedures.

  • On completion of this course, you’ll have gained an understanding of how to:

    • Understand the role played by Human Resource Management in contemporary organisations
    • Evaluate the best practices used by organisations, and how these adapt to a range of demographics, organisations, and global policies
    • Develop a keen knowledge of people management techniques, and methods of communication, problem-solving, team building, and leadership
    • Use research and available data to improve HRM strategies and employee relations.

    You will be formally assessed once during the programme, which will consist of a written assignment of 3,500 words (+/- 10%)
